Push Temper VD
A push-temper made of food-grade stainless steel with a flat base and adjustable “immersion depth.” For precise adjustment, the “immersion depth” is laser-marked in millimeters on the side of the working part. The depth is adjustable from 3 to 10 mm, and the push-temper is locked in the desired position with washers. Material: food-grade stainless steel, aluminum. Color: black.
VD Leveler
The VD Coffee coffee distributor is designed to evenly distribute coffee in the portafilter. Three angled channels effectively and properly level the coffee, creating a dense puck. This helps prevent clumps of ground coffee or the formation of “voids” (channels).
What Is Push Temper?
The push temper is a new tool in a barista’s arsenal. It has so many advantages over a traditional temper! Starting with its design, which enhances the aesthetic appeal of the workspace, and ending with the undeniably perfect technical features of this invention
What’s different compared to a regular tempera brush? The handle has been replaced by a flat tablet, and that’s a major advantage. Not everyone’s hand anatomy (or, more precisely, finger length) allows them to use a tempera brush by resting the center of their palm on the handle while controlling the brush’s balance with their fingertips. That said, there are tempera brushes available with handles of various lengths. It’s worth noting, however, that while this feature is secondary, it is one of the advantages of the Push Tempera.
Another feature is that, thanks to its technical design, the push-temper allows for a consistently uniform tempering level without requiring any special effort on the barista’s part. Previously, tempering required taking into account a multitude of parameters:
- holder support,
- the angle of the elbow bend,
- passion,
- pressure.
So now this special ritual—the flawless execution of which is a direct reflection of a barista’s experience— boils down to a simple push. This will allow the barista to immediately focus on other equally important aspects of coffee preparation, bypassing the nuances of the tempering technique.
Another cool bonus— the barista can set the tamping depth using the Push-Temper scale (from 3 to 10 mm). The Push Temper is easy to use, practical, gives you complete control over the evenness of the tamp, and it’s just a beauty 🙂
